Finding reserves
Course reserve materials may include books, videos, and/or electronic materials.
For departmental libraries:
Search the library catalog, Franklin, by selecting the Course Reserve tab. Choose either your instructor's name from the instructor list or your course number from the course list, or combine the instructor and course search. All materials currently on reserve for the instructor or course will be listed in alphabetical order by title. For Van Pelt reserves:
Please refer to the Penn Libraries Course Reserve button on your course's Canvas page.Note: Some or all of your course material may be available on Canvas or other courseware, or from a web page set up by your instructor. Check with your instructor if you have questions.
Print Reserve Locations
The largest reserve collection, Van Pelt Reserve, is located on the 1st floor at the east end of the Van Pelt Circulation Desk, next to the entrance to the Moelis Family Grand Reading Room. Each Penn Library also has its own reserve collection.
Adding Course Reserve Materials
Ask your instructor to contact the appropriate library reserve department to place materials on reserve, whether physical or electronic. Please note that instructors should allow a week for new requests to be processed, and that only requests submitted by the deadline are guaranteed to be available by the first week of classes.
