Collection Development Policies

Main content

The collection development policies below document the specific ways in which the Library's collections of print, images and sound support the University's research and instruction. They are intended to serve as a basis for the ongoing conversation between librarians, students, and faculty regarding the selection and retention of library materials and the setting of priorities, and help to ensure that the Library continues to meet the University's evolving programmatic needs. In order to be useful, they must be current. They are dynamic documents, and we hope that the communication they are intended to encourage will be two-way: to that end contact information is provided at the beginning of each policy, and we always welcome suggestions from our users.
