Processes incoming boxes of records to be stored from various department offices within the University's campus, including HUP, Presbyterian Hospital, CHOP, Veterinary School and other Penn medical office buildings. Handles requests for delivery of records and entire boxes. Permanently removes requested department boxes from the Records Center data base and prepares for delivery. Processes returning records and boxes via barcode scanner. Coordinates services for confidential shredding with our preferred vendor DocuVault. Handles all calls and problems related to the shredding service. Sorts and files correspondence from the Office of The President of The University of Pennsylvania. Runs the monthly billing and electronic notifications for boxes eligible for destruction. Fills in for the office manager during his absence.
Robert began his career at Penn in 1988 as an Administrative Assistant for Undergraduate Admissions in College Hall. He worked in the Records & Files Department processing undergraduate student applications for the early and regular admissions cycle. Also, supervised temporary staff and work studies during the peak months. Eventually became the Records and Files Manager until departing after 17 years in the fall of 2005. He moved into the role of Assistant Records Manager for the University Archives & Records Center in early 2006.
