Joseph Glossberg's (W'63, WG'65) long record of service to Penn includes membership on the Board of Trustees, the Library Board of Overseers; the Midwest President's Council; and the Alumni Council on Admissions. Mr. Glossberg is a recipient of the Alumni Award of Merit.

His support of the Penn Library includes a seminar room, the staff lounge, and an endowed fund for information resources.

Glossberg provided funding for the Lippincott Library seminar room now named in his honor. "Wharton students are involved in a broad range of collaborative projects as part of their preparation for the world of business," Glossberg explains. "It is critical that they have appropriate meeting spaces, backed by immediate access to the latest marketing and financial data in real time. And they need to be able to exploit cutting-edge new information services and technologies and to make them part of their way of approaching business decisions."

The Glossberg Seminar Room offers meeting space for groups of up to twelve people, with computer projection facilities and high speed Internet access to realize Glossberg's vision. Since its opening in spring 1996, it has quickly become one of the library's most popular spaces for students working in small groups.

Mr. Glossberg also won the hearts of the Library staff when he provided funding for a new Library Staff Lounge. With a modern kitchen and access to a garden patio, the Lounge is a popular rest stop for staff lunch and coffee breaks.

The Joseph B. Glossberg Fund supports collection development for the music library.
