Richard L. Sperry, Wharton MBA 1967, established this fund in 2005 for the purchase of books, manuscripts, and other materials for the Rare Book & Manuscript Library at Penn. An endowed fund, it will provide resources in perpetuity.

The gift is in response to the Meyerson Challenge, made by President Emeritus and Mrs. Martin Meyerson, who made a companion contribution in support of the Penn Library's acquisition endowment program.

Mr. Sperry, former Principal at Scudder Stevens & Clark, is a generous supporter of the Penn Library and has served as a member and Treasurer of the Library Friends Council.
