Ivy Day Plaques for Class of 1953

The Penn Library has been the beneficiary of continuing support from this class. They created comfortable study spaces in Van Pelt-Dietrich, provided crucial support for the Schoenberg Center for Electronic Text and Image, and established the Class of 1953 Library Endowment Fund on the occasion of their 40th reunion in 1993.

With the enthusiastic support of the class, the Library has agreed to use the Fund not only to purchase needed materials, but to commemorate deceased class members. Upon the death of a class member, the Library places a memorial electronic bookplate in the record of the book purchased with the Fund. Class members are encouraged to make bequests to the fund so that it may continue to grow and provide new resources for future Penn students and faculty.
