Petrarch, the famed 14th-century Italian humanist, was a prolific inscriber of notes, glosses, and texts within the manuscripts in his private collection. This lecture will explore notations found in the flyleaves of 39 manuscripts from Petrarch’s collection to gain a clearer understanding of his particular use of marginal spaces.
